Fragile
3 glass domes 20 x 14 cm each. Purchased glass, clay and moss
These tiny sculptures made out of brown clay can be identified as mountains which can be contemplated through the glass domes. The glass acts as a barrier to prevent damages, flaws, dirt which can harm them. In this way, what is inside becomes sacred. This piece deals with the impossibility of living past experiences again and alludes to the angst that the passage of time generates.
Becoming matter

Clay

This clay composition is made of an almost rounded form implying a human body and tiny pieces of clay surrounding it. Those pieces were created by the act of carving the human form. The human’s pose resembles an armadillo (mulita), this autochthonous specie has the capacity of hiding inside its own shell. The shell provides protection, shelter and support. The clay figure in this work is searching for refuge and feels protected by trying to go back to the matter that once gave life to it.
Chants for who may listen

Tiny paper boats on board.

These paper boats are made with old letters containing songs and drawings that I created and kept hidden in my childhood after the death of my smallest brother. The creation of these origami boats was a meditative process. The way in which these boats are placed on the exhibition panel reflect the possibility to let flow, let go and move on in life.
Soil
3 x 43 x 29.5 cm
Clay beds with clay dust in them.

Is this a bed? A grave? A bathtub? “Soil” depicts bodies merged into clay containers filled with clay dust; an intimate place to connect and disconnect at the same time. These pieces are based upon the Argentinian contemporary artist Liliana Porter and her tiny figures. The scale here is important as it demands the viewer to come closer, creating an intimate interaction between the figure and the spectator.
Evergreen
4 x 30 x 35 cm
23 pine seeds covered with clay
This work is composed by 23 pine seeds covered with clay. The pine tree is a symbol of long life, immortality, courage, strength and resilience due to its resistance on many temperature ranges. The clay in this work tries with effort to contain that immortality and constancy. However, as time passes, the material has shown its difficulty to persist this; as it cracks and holes appeared.
